　When the stream started, a cascade of comments poured in like a waterfall.
　Perhaps thanks to yesterday’s announcement stream, the viewer count was growing faster than usual.

“As I mentioned beforehand, today will be a joint exploration with other guilds. Therefore, rather than advancing alone as usual, we will be pacing our exploration alongside everyone else. I appreciate your understanding.”

　Hm, what rude comments.
　Even I can match pace with people. It’s just that I haven’t done it much up until now.
　If I try, I should be able to do it… probably.

　While I was thinking about that, the doors blocking the dungeon opened. Apparently, it was time for the exploration to begin.

“We will now begin the First Attack of the Niseko Volcano Dungeon! The vanguard will be led by us, the Gold Leo Guild!”

　The explorer walking at the front declared that as they entered the dungeon.
　The Gold Leo Guild was a major, long-established guild. The average level of its explorers was high, and it consistently ranked among the top choices in popular employer rankings every year.

　Their training seemed thorough as well, as they had politely greeted us earlier. They didn’t seem as aggressively desperate about this exploration as the Iron Stag Guild or the Obsidian Bear Guild, so having them take the lead put my mind at ease as well.

“Alright, we’re heading in. Ah, I’d appreciate it if you could subscribe to the channel and leave a like.”

　Saying that, we stepped inside.
　At first, it looked like an ordinary cave, but as we advanced a little further, the surroundings began to change.

「What’s this, snow?」
「Whoa. Looks cold」
「Ah, so it’s that type of dungeon」

　As we descended through the dungeon, the temperature steadily dropped, and snow and ice became prominent underfoot.
　Apparently, this dungeon was an ice and snow type dungeon.
　The cold relentlessly sapped an explorer’s stamina. For that reason, cold dungeons weren’t very popular and few explorers dove into them, but this time, we couldn’t just turn back just because it was cold.

　The explorers ahead began putting on cold-weather gear.
　Apparently, they had prepared for the cold as well. Well, it was Hokkaido, so they probably considered the possibility of an ice and snow type dungeon.

“T-Tanaka-san. I’m getting a little cold too.”

　Hoshino, walking beside me, said so.
　She was rubbing her exposed bare skin to warm up. She certainly looked cold.

　Whenever Hoshino appeared, the comments really got livelier than usual.
　Rather, what was with these comments? Were my viewers exclusively adolescent boys?

　Well, even so, I had to agree that Hoshino in a business suit would definitely be cute. I wasn’t about to show that to these guys right here, though.

“No, putting on heavy winter gear isn’t a good idea.”
“Eh? But if it’s this cold, our movements will get sluggish, and won’t our stamina drain…?”
“However, wearing thick clothes makes it harder to move around. In dungeon exploration, that can be fatal.”

　If a tank wears layers beneath their armor, that might be fine, but if swordsmen like us did that, our strengths would be compromised. Therefore, we use a different method to deal with the cold.

“If you’re cold, you just need to raise your body temperature. That way, there’s no need to bundle up.”
“That might be true, but… how on earth are you supposed to raise your body temperature?”

「Yui-chan being bewildered is cute」
「If we could do that, nobody would suffer!」
「Shachiken’s about to say something outrageous again lol」
「Yui-chan looks cold, poor thing… Shall Uncle warm you up?」

“You know about frictional heat, right? The kind where rubbing things together generates heat. You just do that with your body.”
“Eh? H-How do you do that?”
“Focus your awareness on every single cell and vibrate them. Like this.”

　Saying that, I showed her my right hand and vibrated it at high speed.
　Immediately, my right hand gained heat, and steam began to rise. When humans get cold, their bodies shiver to generate heat. This was doing that consciously. If you master this, you can swim naked in a glacier.

　When Hoshino took my warmed hand, her eyes went wide in surprise.

“Amazing! It’s warm like a stove!”
“Simple, right? You should try it too, Hoshino.”

「Like hell that’s simple!」
「If we could do that, nobody would suffer! (Rerun)」

「Shouldn’t Yui-chan just obediently put on clothes…」

　I also taught Hoshino other techniques useful in cold places.
　How to walk on ice, how not to cool down your core even when inhaling freezing air, how to fight in snowy terrain… I passed on everything I had learned in dungeons so far to Hoshino without holding back.
　Even things I thought might be a bit difficult, Hoshino picked up right away. The day she surpasses me as an explorer might not be far off.

「Streams of ice/snow dungeons are rare in the first place. This is really informative」

　Checking the comments, I noticed that some of the explorers marching ahead were secretly watching our stream.
　And it seemed they were trying to put what I said into practice… but it wasn’t going very well. Because Hoshino was so gifted, I hadn’t realized, but apparently what I just taught was quite difficult.

“Hoshino-chan really is exceptional. It’s like watching Tanaka-chan from the old days.”
“Really!? That makes me so happy!”

　At Yuki-san’s words, Hoshino rejoiced with sparkling eyes.
　Was being told she was like me really something to be happy about? Well, if she was pleased, that was fine, but…
